Benedryl if you have it works great. I used the liquid rub on kind for rashes and poison Ivy,etc and the oral liquid/capsules to work on the inside. If you need to help her stop itching and soothe the rash, use an oatmeal bath. Put about a cup-1 1/2 c into a room temp bath that is waist high to your baby. Keep her in it as long as possible and try to get her to lay in it to get to all of the rash. Don't rub her.Rubbing makes the itch worse. Pat her dry and let her keep her clothes off except her diaper. This should help! Try to keep both kinds of Benedryl always on hand. If the rash gets larger, like quarter to egg size or the larger ones start connecting take her to the ER immediately. Sometimes you can get breathing problems with an allergy and it is scary and can cause death. I know because I have had it happen to my daughter and myself!! Just be sure and safe.It is better to wake a child and go to the ER than not.Best wishes and I wish I could help you! I'm a Gramby!!

Apply cool water compresses to help relieve itching, take oral Benadryl or Chlor-Trimeton to treat the hives and stop the itching.Once they disapear decrease the medication slowly over 5 to 7 days. Oatmeal baths r a good home method.wrap 1 cup of oatmeal in a cotton cloth, and boil then use as a sponge.try Aveeno colloidal oatmeal,or calamine lotion for poison ivy or rashes

childrens benedryl should help but you need to monitor for other symptoms that may need MD eg wheezing, puffiness etc. You will also want to work out if this is an allergy and what caused it so you can prevent t happening again. my daughter (17 months) gets hives with contact to any dairy product. She gets them around her mouth and on her hands whee she touched the food. They do not seem to bother her much so i have not given benedryl but we do now avoid dairy. Some allergies cause a systemic hive problem over the whole body.
hope this resolves soon

This happened to us when my son was 12 months old. I called his Dr. and got the answering service, so I could talk to the Dr. on call. They'll take you through possible causes to see how big a problem it is, and you can describe the hives to them. Has he eaten something new? On any new medication or antibiotics? Been rolling around in the grass? Dr. will probably ask those questions. And, if baby is big/old enough Dr. can tell you how much antihistamine you can give him if you decide it really is hives. Most importantly, though, I'd call that dr.!

I don't think there's an over-the-counter remedy for hives.
Hives can be a serious issue.........so you might want to consider taken him/her to the dermatologist on Monday. Also if it has been really hot where you live, then that could be the problem. So do plenty of liquid.........but still go to the doctor on Monday.

of course,as most will tell you,see a doc as soon as possible. In the mean time give them something like Benadryl(probably spelled wrong). Also run a warm bath.If you have an old pair of pantyhose they are best, but a old thin sock will work too.Fill it up with oatmeal and tie it off.Put them in the bath and gently rub it all over the itchy places. You can do this as much as needed. It has worked for my 3 girls.I hope this helps. That poor baby,I remember how it was for mine.Good Luck!!!♥

bathe her in a cool bath of baking soda water, you get hives by ingesting something you are allergic to, so it must be a new item you introduced into her diet, or maybe even fabric softeners etc in the wash, its hard to track this stuff down. baking soda should help for tonight, and Ruhligel is a good topical for itch, its usually in the poison ivy treatments at the drugstore.

Benadryl, but read on the bottle to make sure it is safe for a baby that age first, if not then you may have to go to the ER.

benedryl is a good oral med
ALSO, when my daughter gets hives i put oatmeal (uncooked) in a sock and tie the end of the sock. put her in the tub and let the sock get all soapy. rub the sock all over her (it's slimy) it takes away the itch- softens skin- and smells good too! oh, and rinse it off before she gets out of the tub :)
try to have a good night!

Call your doctor. Benadryl works but I don't know the dosage. If you can't get through to your doctor or the one on call, call a 24 hr. pharmacy.
