No, it is not true. Not true because:
(1) Many who are bi or gay or lesbian did not "choose" to be so, but were born this way. (Others perhaps chose--why shouldn't they? Just like being straight, being bi or lesbian/gay is a delightful way to be.)
(2) It is not hurtful to oneself or others to be any given sexual identity. It is not hurtful to oneself or others to be gay, or straight, or bi, or lesbian, or questioning, or anything. It is hurtful to be prejudiced against others, however.
I guess the driving question is why your brother would deliberately expose you to a view that would be so offensive to you. It sounds like he is making a general claim about reality that is in fact designed to be a highly specialized attack on you. Passive aggressive people, when they choose to engage in those types of behaviors, are definitely hurting themselves and others. Perhaps your brother might reflect upon this.

I think your brother should explain himself or his reasonings behind it. In some ways, you have to be careful with relationships with straight and gay people, because your sexual preference is not clearly defined. As a matter of jealousy, it's hard for your partner to not trust you with any sex, and that is added pressure to a relationship. I would just say, if you are with one person, then be with that one person, whether in a hetero or homo relationship, and be good to each other.
