I mean what is it seriously? someone explain these popular white trends:
-"Wiggers" or white teenagers that "imitate" whatever black "role model" they see on MTV or something.. wearing over-baggy jeans, fitted hats, sterling silver jewelry, say things like "word" but live nowhere near NY.. you know, vanilla ice types.. why?
- "Emo".. why? if you're going to complain about life all day, why dont u just kill yourself? i mean isnt that what you dream of?
- "Goths".. i've never seen a japanese goth, or a puerto rican goth.. what is it with white kids and their fascination with satan?
Theres something seriously wrong with white kids.. actually theres something wrong with white people in general, but i wanted some insight on what goes on in the mind of a typical white kid, that makes them do these retarded things.

This is you chance to explain yourself.
GO!

I was almost ready to respond with a number of insults and vulgar comments until I gave it some thought and realised that it was a valid question.
However, it's not just white kids doing this- I see hispanics and asians doing the same thing (Although, admittedly not as much.)

I live in Iowa where this has become a large problem- it's almost obscene.
We grow corn here, the worst thing that could happen in Iowa is to get mugged by farmer Bob with a pitchfork and witness him making a getaway on his tractor.
The vast majority of the "Wiggers" I know who do this were born and raised in Iowa, most of them on farms or in small towns. There has been no exposure whatsoever to the type of environment their clothing, speech and attitude would suggest they came from.

If I were to blame this sort of nonsense on something in particular I would blame it on conformity. Apparently every teenager in America actually would jump off the building if everyone else was.
America has seen a severe decline in intellectual standards and as a result a severe decline in individual thought.
The youth of today would rather be told what to think and do rather than do it on their own. I continually hear about the teenage rebellion phase but all I see are teens rebelling in a conformist sort of way.
At any rate, it appears that the popular thing to do now is to wear your older brother's hand-me-downs and speak as though you need to get hooked on phonics or something.

Conformity is the problem, people are sheep.

With regards to the Satanist routine and the Goth fad, they are two different things and a result of the same problem- Conformity.

Don't tell me that your generation didn't have any fads that confused your parents.

Wiggers come from the fact that the media has made the gang banging lifestyle cool. By focusing on the lowest common denominator, they can appeal to everyone.

Emo...clinically depressed, or no idea how to deal with their burgeoning hormones and the feelings attached. Everything is the end of the emotional world.

Goth...clinically depressed, and showing it by looking at the darkside of life. Don't give it enough credit to claim their fascinated with satan...it's just a phase and gimmick. By attaching to something on the fringe or outside, the goth kids can intimidate the normals or their "oppressors". Those that don't grow out of it, usually hang onto some psuedo occult fascination...I wouldn't call it satanism though. One other point here...satan sells. Trying to promote a wholesome lifestyle to people who are going thru one of the most dramatic changes (puberty) of their lives, just conflicts with whats happening in their minds and bodies...give them time...they'll get over it.

Well, having been a white kid I would say it is because of various social reasons. The media and the parents are the ones I would like to focus on. Teens are watching people on television who have interesting ethnic traditions that they celebrate. In a sense I think it's their way of learning about things different than they know. Not to mention it drives their parents crazy. It's all about becoming an individual and experiencing new and different things.

Most white parents don't instill in their children pride for their heritage and a sense of individuality. We whites are obsessed with keeping up with the Jone's. Running thick thru the suburbs is the idea of "Be just like little Tommy Taylor and your life will be great" The problem is children who are trying to be everyone but themselves and they end up miserable.

It's strange, I'll give you that! They eventually grow out of it. I have to say it does offend me somewhat that you would generalize that there is something wrong with all white people. I will admit there are still a lot of jerks among my race that are really mean to other cultures, however that's not all of us. Some of us embrace other cultures and stand up to the grumpy whites when they say mean things. Ending the stupidity is ALL of our responsibility.

Maybe the "wigger" kids don't see a black person when they're watching MTV. They just see a cool guy that they want to emulate.
And BTW they are a huge number of Japanese and Korean Goths! It's a quickly growing trend in the rest of Asia too. Hello, LOLITA??
Lots of kids do silly things and wear silly clothes, that's just the way it is. Most grow out of it. I think it's sort of silly myself, but no need to drag race into the (non-) issue.
Have a nice day!!

p.s. Word!! (Just kidding.)

I wish I could answer this in ebonics or rap. I think it bothers you that there are cultural derivatives here that are not based upon the "cool" of the black refusal to be categorized. Well, white kids do not like it either - "Oh, they are all alike", "can't tell them apart", are resented by almost all faddish cultures. So new fads show up all the time. Stupid? No. Necessary? Not sure. Real? Absolutely.

White kids are stupid because all kids are stupid. Also, there are more white people in the U.S. than other races so we have more of a chance to look stupid. White kids imitate popular culture just like any other kids. Actually, people in general are just morons, "follow the leader" types. Oh yeah, and some white people also feel like they have no identity. This is a time when it's "cool" to be ethnic, or to have a culture, but a lot of white people are of so many different nationalities, some are just struggling to be "cultural", so they go back and find some little part of their heritage to hold on to, or they imitate other cultures.

I don't know. The kids at my school do that and I just don't understand. They want to be cool and to fit in. Example: There's this UGLY kid at my school, who is white. He is really tall and has scrawny chicken legs. He wears his pants way higher than his waist, kinda like Urkle. Yet, he listens to rap, pretends he can rap, tries to breakdance, and thinks he's so cool. I just don't get it. I'm white too, but I don't do all that dumb stuff. The kids who pretend to be like satan are trying to be "bad" and want to be rebels, so they worship satan. It's really weird. Sorry if this post is too long. I hope I answered your question!!

Why such a negative attitude.............First of all all teens and pre-teens are all trying to fit in............
You should see this as a compliment!! They like the way the blacks dress, so what is wrong with that? Who say that only blacks can wear baggy jeans, or fitted hats? White teenagers see them as having good taste.....
You sound upset.....Sorry.......But you also sound racist in your statements to whites. Don't be like that dude!
Find your own way in life and don't worry about others.........Life is tough at times....I wish my only problem was worrying about what someone else wears!
I will keep you in my thoughts...May God bless you
