Guess what! I'm a L&D nurse and I will admit I was the worst at remembering to take the prenatal vitamins!! Especially when I worked nights. (they don't call it pregnancy brain for nothing!)
It's OK, just as long as you maintain a healthy diet and stay hydrated!! Like you said your almost 37 weeks you must be doing something right!!
BTW my almost 10 month old daughter is happy and healthy
Take care

Wow! Some of these people are really overreacting. Ok sweetie, although it is a very good thing to take the prenatal vitamins forgetting is not going to kill you. Sheesh people! Remember as often as you can though, maybe set an alarm or if you have a cell phone most cells have a reminder feature on them and you can put it on daily and write something like "take vitamin". Wow, I can't believe that one person who compared forgetting vitamins to leaving your child in a hot car..talk about overreacting. Anyways, like I said, your child should be just fine without the vitamins but taking them is a very good thing so just remember as often as possible. Good luck and congrats on being a Mommy.

I forget a lot, too, so I can definitely relate. However, I don't think that "their kids were fine" is a very good argument. For one thing, a lot of babies died way back when they didn't have prenatal vitamins or prenatal care. Another thing is that the logic is flawed. How many people DON'T die of lung cancer despite smoking a pack a day? A lot. Does that mean that we should allow our kids to start smoking?
I think it is important to take, because more and more studies are coming out that show that good nutrition in the womb lays the foundation for nutrition later in life, and even for some aspects of the baby's personality (ie, babies whose mothers took better care of themselves during pregnancy tended to be more calm and sleep better). Will it kill you not to? No, more than likely not. And there is a lot of debate on how much good vitamins do a person at all. Nevertheless, it won't hurt, and I have found that taking them at night helps curb the nausea.
I used to take birth control pills and try to take my prenatal vitamin every night before bed, just like I did my bcp. This will also help me to remember to take bcp regularly again once I start taking them again. Anyhow, I forget too. I think it's important, but pregnancy does tend to make one forgetful! :) Thanks for the reminder!

Honestly, prenatal vitamins are mostly for the Mother's benefit... While carrying a child, the baby tend to get most if not all of your nutrients. So, the prenatal vitamins help you maintain what your body needs, while the baby takes what it needs.... You're baby will be fine without them if you choose not to take them. But, you could also have the risk of having weaker hair, nails, and teeth...among other things...

no longer something. Do you think of all of our mothers and fathers, grandparents and huge grandparents had prenatal supplements back then? No, they trusted eating a healthful nutrients plan. as long as you consume healthful meals jointly with total grains, culmination, greens and drink a good style of milk (or in spite of you consume to get calcium in case you do no longer drink milk). confirm you get a good style of iron too. A serving of Kix cereal (or Honey Nut Cheerios) and a pitcher of milk with Ovaltine jumbled in wisely has the authentic comparable quantity of nutrients and supplements in that one single prenatal pill. basically study labels and notice which you have become the flaws you opt for for. Iron, Calcium, nutrition B and Folic Acid. Folic acid is way less significant after 8-10 weeks however.

It wont HURT but it is a good idea to take them...dont skip them altogether. it helps to make sure 100% the baby will be heeealthy and minimize complications.....
u can still have a healthy baby without them but it helps the development of the fetus..
uu dont have to take them all the time but maybe once or twice a week. talk to ur OBGYN

Your baby will be fine...you don't have to take the vitamins it just recommended that you do..they are good for baby. Some people can't take them because they make them sick..I don't think you have anything to worry about esp. since all your Dr. visits are going well.
