I am always dealing with this question myself, and I usually only come up with the obvioulsy stupid answers like draw a tree. You don't have to draw a recognizable thing. It can be from your imagination-dreams are often a good source of inspiration. I often draw things that when people see them they wonder what it is...and I just tell them that it's my mind! Drawing names in an extremely stylized form is also good...and it makes a great present!

Pick up a book called "Anatomy for the Artist".

Work on drawing the human skeleton, then work your way up to the outside. That way when you draw figures and faces the structure will provide you with proper proportion.

Also having a Medical skeleton (even a $80) cheapie is great to have. Check with house mates first...Some are squeamish, even though it is only cast from a skeleton... it is still "full sized". (Both Grandma, then later the Hubby, had issues with "Bruce" the skeleton.)

*Typically male skelleton, so be aware in your pelvis proportions.

When the mood strikes me to draw, I usually go to a magazine called Country. They have the most breathe taking pictures of scenery you ever saw in your life! The pictures are taken from all over the U.S. and other countries. I enjoy landscaping pictures myself and moonlit pictures over open bodies of water. Perhaps you have hit a plateau in drawing. Keep searching, I'm sure you'll find something that strikes your fancy again.

Good luck and I hope I was some what helpful!

I'll tell you what I tell my friends when they ask this same question. A koala wearing a monacle, riding an emu in the drive-thru at McDonalds ordering 3 Big Macs, a Quarter-Pounder, and a Diet Coke. Don't forget the speech bubble that reads "I say, they seem to be letting all sorts of riff-raff run this establishment now adays. Why, back in my day...." And don't forget the tophat on the koala.
