So many answers can be good here from the classics of Alfred Hitchcock to the latter day twistys of Brian DePalma but i think the most upside down-wasn't prepared for that-type film of recent has to be THE USUAL SUSPECTS. From beginning to the climatic end where upon we find how much we were decieved is amazing, the lies perpetrated by Verbal Kint (played to the tune of an Oscar win for Kevin Spacey) are amazing, how much creativity not only in the deciet and lies, but the plotline, and to this day (11 years later) people still argue about the elusive KEYZER SOZE character. One for the ages, so people can list their SE7EN, they can list MEMENTO, they can even list APT PUPIL(all great thriller with huge twists) but I'll stick with the film that sets the standard for plot turns.

Jesus of Nazareth (1977-tv) Out on a Limb (1987-tv) Shirley MacLaine The Exorcist (1973) The Godfather movies. The tv shows that expanded my mind were the original Star Trek (1966-1969) and the original Battlestar Galactica in the 1970's.

FREQUENCY! The conversation across time, and the ability to change the future really messed my mind.
I have to agree with those who posted the Sixth Sense, or any Shyamalan movie for that matter. Beware the final twists!
The first Matrix was also very thought-provoking.
Now I'm going to watch any mind-screwing film, The Lake House!

1. TWELVE MONKEYS. Is he insane or is this crazy time travel stuff really happening?
2. Memento (very close to #1)
3. Vanilla Sky (sorry but you know it is, that is why you made it off limits!)
