The United Nations is being criticized for failures to really push its abilities.

Genocide all over the world is failing to be stopped. The Hezbollah Resolution signed earlier wasn't, as far as I know, carried out or even attempted.

Do you believe the UN works? Do you have examples of times the UN has succeeded?

If not, how could it be reformed to really work for human rights and lives?

For those who think it should be abolished, what do you think that will do to foreign relations on the planet? Will people be left out? Will human rights services have more problems?

it doesn't work because the member nations are more concerned with serving their own needs than helping the world as a whole. countries veto other countries if a resolution doesn't serve their purpose.
right now the stakes in the issues facing the u.n. are too high and the member nations have too much invested financially to ever come to agreement. also many of the worlds leaders right now have a 'shoot first ask questions later' approach to politics which is not constructive for any side involved.
the u.n. should be reformed to deal with more humanitarian issues and less war issues. it leaves a lot of security questions yes but i think they would do much better feeding people than killing them.

The UN is totally worthless (unless your afraid of a paper cut.) They make resolution after resolution and not only don't enforce them but get mad if someone does.

They are corrupt and deserve to be disbanded. Many have been raped by UN peacekeepers and the UN observers did just that, watched Israeli soldiers get kidnapped and not only did nothing but filmed it. In an unfortunate incident 4 UN observers were killed and Anon said it was deliberate (never mind that Hezbollah has killed at least 10 of them a year for 2 to 3 decades) It is time they were disbanded!

Yes I feel the UN works and people need to stop criticizing what has America done that is better or France, UK, Germany, etc NOTHING it takes time. I feel the UN has done more and in the case of Israel and Lebanon America is causing the problem to grow not helping it. The UN has over 100 organizations thaty help people arouind the world. WHO ,UNICEF, Not to mention the others but these are really at the top. They provide more than The 1st class countries in the world.I support their hard work.

There are no examples of the UN working; they have no successes to point to. The oil for food program was the biggest embezzlement scandal in history. It made Enron look like a parking ticket. No one was fired or jailed.

It is time for a replacement or at least that the UN is a debate society for thieving morons

It's a great idea, so I don't think we should give up on it.

But it's not working very well.
