Residence visa can be obtained from travel agencies and ranges from 7000 to 12000 Dirhams. It depends on what is your work category, the higher your work profile, the more expensive it will be. Housemaid residence visa is the cheapest and managerial visa as the most expensive. Residence visa is good for 3 years.
But I recommend you to secure a job and let your company to issue you your residence or employment visa rather than purchasing on your own. Why? Aside from it is expensive, there are a lot of fake residence visas nowadays. Beware or these people.

There are 3 legal ways :
1) To find a job: The company will issue you a residency visa. Total cost will be around USD2,000 including your health-card and deposit amount. (Some of this amount will be paid by the company depending on your agreement). The residency visa will be valid for 3 years.
2) You can start a business: Depending on your profession and/or capital the cost will be starting from Usd10,000. With this you will be able to sponsor your family for their residency. You will get 3 years residency.
3) You can purchase property: Freehold property ownership entitles you to have residency visa. The cost of a studio-flat will start from USD150,000.- The period is 99 years.

A lot depends on ur country of origin, I have a friend who was born there but if he doesnt have a job he has to leave after so many weeks!! he is indian. When I arrived I was given three months visa but I couldnt work, Im British. If you buy property you automatically get residency. Try the United Arab Emirates Govt website, its very informative and helpful. Good luck

who is your sponsor, than we can see the payment. personal mean family is diffrent with company working permit and other possiblelity is just buy an appartment in dubai tehn you`ll get the residence permit, most of it from 1 to 3 years. or just click http://dnrd.ae ...... OK
