Does anyone know of a pay as you go plan that will allow you to use a cell phone you already own? (i.e. can i purchase trac phone minutes to use on a phone i got from cingular (as part of a 2 year plan) a few years ago) Please advise, thanks so much!

i have a phone from cingular, that i received when i was on their 2 year plan. i don't want to have cingular as a provider, and do not want cingular pay as you go. i do want to use the cingular phone, if i can though.

If you can unlock your phone, it should work with another carrier. However, bear in mind that there is a reason companies 'lock' their phones - a) your troubleshooting options may be limited - tracphone won't have all the information on your phone, so they won't be able to help you as much. b) some features may not work. IE, some unlocked phones on the Cingular network are unable to use internet/internet-related features - and it is NOT fixable. Call the company, explain what you're thinking of doing. Ask them what limitations there might be. They ought to know.

You should see if you can make your phone pay as you go with cingular. Ask if you can get a new card for it.

i am a little bit confuse with ur uestion.i got cingular pay as u go pick a plan...and it allow me to use any cellphone as long as it unlock...hope my answer help u

I have tracfone and the answer is no. To use tracfone service, you must have a tracfone phone. Fortunately, some of their phones run pretty cheap (around $20) so it won't be too much of an expense.
