I take alka seltzer plus gel tabs and they work very well and I am prone to a lot of ear trouble...aleve will help with pain better than tylenol because Aleve will decrease inflammation. I would think though that if you do indeed have an ear infection and its not just sinus drainage that you need to go to the doctor and get some antibiotics I have never had an ear infection to go away without antibiotics...also another thing that really helps in Mucinex which you can buy over the counter and it helps to dry up all of the drainage, but take it just before you go to bed as it makes you fairly sleepy...whenever my ears are acting up I take this combination of things and am usually better within a few days...I was instructed to do this my by my doctor as well as my mother who has been a nurse for 25 years.

Take a Sudafed (be careful though and do not take too often) it can raise your blood pressure. If you have high blood pressure already, DO NOT TAKE IT!!! If you do not have high blood pressure, take one Sudafed and use some Similisan Ear Drops (also over the counter ). A tylenol or Advil for pain and you are set. I hope you feel better.

This is an old home remedy for ear aches. I have never in my life been to a doctor for an ear ache. My mom would take a few drops of warm baby oil and place in my ear with a piece of cotton, and take a couple of aspirin , then go to bed and lay on that ear so it stays warm, usually by the next day all pain is gone

You might try Actifed if you can't find Pseudafed. Also you might try taking an antibiotic like amoxicillin.
