Err, at the same time as i develop into 17 ( i'm 24 now ) i develop into operating finished time, residing in my own position (paying employ ) procuring, having information superhighway, television, and telephone expenditures. optimistic i wanted help each and every once in a lengthy time period, even if it taught me to be an independant individual and to take exhilaration in what I have. on the different hand I have a chum who's 26 and stay in his moms basement, wouldn't have any expenditures because she children him and he's the biggest mooch and has no ambition because he knows mommy will preserve it. It appears like your son is a medium between me and my chum. i can make him pay employ expecially because he's being defiant. If he would not choose to pay employ then tell him he can bypass spend 4-5 hundred money a month on a crappy appartment. that still guarantees that he gained't be virtually 30 previously thinking transferring out. IMO

Something from the store; Things Remembered Store could be nice. You can have things engraved there. They have a vast variety of things to choose from (key chains, boxes, backgammon games, mugs etc). You can even look them up online, they also have stores in malls.
Does he like a particular sport? Something along those lines would be nice.
We have fun playing boccie ball in our family. A nice set will run around 100. but he can have it forever. A fun outdoor game.
It seems electronics are always a hit. Gift certificates are fun too! Whatever you decide, he will know it is given with love and he will enjoy it. :) Happy Birthday to your baby!

Maybe a trinket from his birth (hospital wristband, first toy if you still have it), or your 21st birthday, as well as something you know he wants now and will use often (i.e. car, stereo, furniture etc.). That way you will cover the traditional, meaningful side of his coming of age and give him some sort of valuable, practical gift as well.
