As I get older and hopefully wiser I find it easier to answer what is not beautiful.
Years ago I was stationed at White Sands, one of the arm-pit posts operated by the Army. I was away from home, lonely and miserable. Likewise, I found nothing of beauty in the desert of New Mexico.
Years later, returning to the area, I began to see all the marvels that can be found in arid areas. Obvious beauty (like an old growth redwood forest) is no more profound than the beauty in a single desert flower growing out of a sand dune.
Some forms of beauty requires astute vision. And discovering these is it's own reward.

What makes something beautiful is the hidden magic and light in something that suddenly reveals itself to us when we're receptive to seeing it.......it can be called the animating force that animates all things on this planet and in space.........and we are connected to it and we are it.......and this beauty will always touch the heart and help create total wonder and it also points us in the direction towards infinite light; That realization that we are the light; that we're more than we ever thought we were.......and this is Beauty meeting itself and it's in the eye of the beholder.

The saying beauty is in the eye of the beholder has been around a long time, I think because it is true. Beauty is in the percieving. We can come to believe anything is beautiful if we change our perception of it, or our thinking about it.

I'm in no way competent to answer this question...but my thoughts...
beauty is an inflicting flame of joy and harmony, marvel...that which is immensely pleasing..that which unites us with the grandeur of existence breaking the shell of confinement and taking us towards the higher plane where all creation is born...
beauty leaves your mind in awe and wonder and your soul in bliss...
beauty breaks free from confinement into endless infinity...touching the pinnacle of existence and expression...
the phenomenon of transcendence from void to bliss is what creates beauty...
this was not an answer to your beautiful question, but a mere attempt...

the beauty comes from inside that's inner soul.Be it a living or a non-living thing the soul in it makes it something that is aesthetically pleasing.
Beauty is a value associated with an innate and emotional perception of life's affirmative and meaningful aspects within objects in the perceived world ie. vitality, fertility, health, happiness, goodness, and love. Cognition of "beauty" involves the interpretation of objects as being in balance and harmony with nature, which in turn elicits a sense and experience of attraction, affection, and pleasure.
In its most profound sense, beauty is said to engender a salient experience of positive reflection with regard to the meaning of one's own being within natural life. An "object of beauty" may be anything that reveals or resonates with a personal meaning. Hence religious and moral teachings have often focused on the divinity and virtue of beauty, to assert natural beauty as an aspect of a spiritual beauty (ie. truth) and to define all self-centered or materialistic pretensions as based in ignorance. The ancient story of Narcissus for example, deals with the distinction between recognizing beauty and falling into vanity. The presence of the self in any human context means that beauty is naturally tied to its human meaning, wherein human beauty is often the dominant aspect of a greater natural beauty. Otherwise, objects can be defined as belonging to any of various types, such as "artificial," or "intellectual" beauty.
In the modern context, the usage of beauty as means to promote an ideology or dogma has been a focus of societal debates which center around issues of prejudice, ethics, and human rights. The usage of beauty for purposes of commercialism is a controversial aspect of the "culture wars," wherein feminism typically claims such usage promotes a dogmatic (ie. "The Beauty Myth") rather than a virtuous understanding of beauty. The literal opposite of beauty is ugliness —ie. the perceived lack of beauty, which stimulates displeasure and engenders a deeper negative perception of the object.

beauty is an art
art is subjective
that is why beauty is also subjective
you bring the beauty to the rose, meaning it is you who see the beauty of that something,
beauty is different to different observers,
this may be beautiful to me but not to you

What you think is beautiul comes from within your own heart. Some may not think that something is beautiful but others, like yourself may see it beautiful.
