What kind of dismissal? What kind of case? Civil cases don't go on your record, and employers only ask/care about convictions. Not guilty until proven guilty.
If it really bothers you, pull your own criminal record and check.

In all due respect, the other answers are WRONG. It will not be taken out of record because of our civil law system. Your dismissed case would later be reviewed as basis for the decision of future similar cases. This is a legal principle of precedence. This happens a lot. However, your records on criminal cases would be kept secret and disclosed only to the records of the courts. These records are for legal purposes only!!
Also, everything that goes in court is recorded but not all are open for public knowledge. Don't worry about these records.

Is this a civil or criminal case ? I think it must considered criminal if you are worried about it in a background check. If a case is dismissed there was not sufficient evidence to prosecute or the DA determined in his own mind you were not guilty. For whatever reason the arrest will show on your record. Some states do have laws that provide for your record to be cleared. I would suggest you call the Attorney General's Office in your state and get an opinion on state law.

Dismissed means the state didn't have enough evidence to prosecute the case or that you completed all that was required of you for your court order. The charge against you is tossed if it's a prosecution situation. Your record would show that you'd been arrested for something, that's all. Usually background checks for employment don't even include arrests. Convictions are what they look for.

this depends on the charge and the case and the circumstance. did a public defender get it dismissed, a paid lawyer a homeless court?
if its yours you can check with credit reports as, yes, criminal is on there too. if dismissed you can send in the record and ask it be removed if not already.
sometimes there is a process separate to get it removed. all depends...so many variables and you gave little info. you need legal advice.
maybe an explanation would help but why did your info get pulled ? they may not have had the legal right to pull it after hire.. again see a lawyer. in this case an employment lawyer.

Having a case dismissed is not the same as being found not guilty. If you were arrested, that should stay on your record, with a notation of case dismissed.
You can't undo the fact that you were, actually, arrested.

Go to the Courthouse and get the papers to have it expunged off of your record. Because it was dismissed you should not have to pay the money.

Yes, if it is dismissed, it can be taken off your record, but if it was 'retired', then it is kinda like probation---if you ever do the same thing again, they can bring that retirement verdict back to court.
