The first half is a french guys and 2 americans going around smoking and drinking and haxing sex. One disaperes and then the other one. At this point the good times are over. The one guy left is the only one the rest of the story follows. If you couldnt handle saw dont see it. Weak stomach? dont see it

It's a really dumb movie, very gory, but not scary at all.
SPOILER COMING UP!
Basically, these two American guys and a guy they meet in Europe who is European are in Amsterdam. They are hanging out, and trying to hook up, and they meet this young kid who tells them to go to a city in Slovakia where the women are really hot and really into sex with foreigners.
They get to the hostel in Slovakia, and they are told they have to share a room with some hot girls who run around in their undies and stuff. The girls invite them to the spa where there are a lot of gorgeous girls who are naked. The guys are all happy and excited. There is some sex. First the European guy disappears, then one of the Americans disappears. There's one American left, and he talks to this Japanese girl whose friend is also missing. They plan to go looking for her friend, but then she doesn't meet him when she is supposed to, so he goes snooping alone, and ends up at this old building complex that looks like an abandoned bunch of industrial buildings.
Inside the building, he goes snooping, and it's really creepy. At one point, he finally finds his buddy from America, and the guy's chest is cut open, as if he were having an autopsy, and this older, German guy is poking around inside him. Eventually, he finds the Japanese girl and saves her while she is being tortured. They try to get away. At one point, he ends up in this locker room, and he meets an American, and he finds out that the whole point is it's a "hunting club", and for a large amount of money, sadists can come there and pay to torture, main, and kill people. Everyone knows about it; it's like an industry in this little creepy village. He eventually escapes, and manages to take the Japanese girl with him.
It turns out the hotties who were in the hostel are paid to lure people like him for fodder for the "hunting club". There's some more sensless violence. He and the Japanese girl are almost home free, and she happens to see her own reflection, and she is so distressed by the way she's been tortured, she throws herself in front of a train. He gets on the train and gets away.
At the very end, he's at a train station, and he recognizes the older German guy who paid to be at the club. He follows him into the men's restroom in the train station and kills him.
There is some creepy atmospheric stuff, and there are some very creepy moments, but mainly it's just a silly gore fest. The story itself is kind of interesting, or at least it would be if someone had taken the idea and written a really good interesting story. Instead, there's sex and a lot of gore, like close up shots of someone having a drill inserted into them, someone getting his Achilles' heels slashed so he cannot get away, and a really close shot of someone's foot being mutilated with what looks like either bolt cutters or garden loppers. It's just a silly movie.
Save your money and rent something else.

Hostel was lame. Scary only because it was supposedly based on true events. Anyways, two American guys are visiting europe. They meet a guy who tags along with them. Then they meet another guy who tells them there's a lot of hot girls in Bratslavia and they should go there. They do. The guy tagging along disappears. Then his friend disappears. one of the hot girls met show him this "museum" where rich guys pay money to kill people. The guy who told them to go to bratslavia and the hot girls were all in it. They get run over by the one remaining american guy. end of movie. hopefully the next one is way better.

A hostel is a place where people go for accommodation.Usually when they are new to a city.There are dormitory style beds,usually a lounge and kitchen.Its less expensive than a hotel.

the guys that go to the hotel to meet the girls end up dead all except for one and the girls set up the males that come and stay at that hotel. they sell the foreigners to people that want to fulfill their fantasies of killing people from other countries. it is really a sadistic movie. but that is just Quentin tarentino for you
