I am Filipino and I am skinny. But skinny and tan are just generalizations. The Philippines is also a melting pot of many cultures and races. From the early Malayans where we got our majority skin color and body physique, many peoples came to dwell in our land. There were the early Chinese and Dutch Traders. The Spanish colonizers. The Japanese Invaders. The Americans. Now, Filipinos are inter-marrying many other races. Thus the physical attributes are just as varied.

HM, I am American and my wife is Filipino. She is not stick thin, but to me she looks skinny. She says that in the Philippines she is considered fat, but by the standards of Americans she is skinny. All I am saying is that an opinion is an opinion and nothing more. It shouldn't influence how we feel about ourselves, but we ALL let it. And yes I find it prejudiced to label people with characteristics, but again can anyone say they never do that? NEVER? I don't think so and I will not believe anyone short of Jesus telling me they don't, and that includes the one who got offended in one of the posted answers. I think what we need to ask ourselves is do we see people of different ethnicity's as different from ourselves or do we see another one of God's creation, another uniquely God-formed person?

I don;t know if they are "supposed" to be skinny, but I think alot of asian cultures were of a smaller stature at one time.Of course over decades they became a larger stature. Then we Americans unindated them with Mickey D's and other Western fast food they probably wouldn't have weight issues.

No, they're not. It's their physical attributes. Go to their country, you'll find a lot of fatty or chubby people.

being skinny and being fat depends on the person. Also, there are medical conditions and medications that will put weight on a person (which then they are not in control over that)
