Not only do I talk to myself, but sometimes I say to myself something like, "Well, we will be home soon" like there is someone else with me. I think it comes from when I was much younger and didnt have many friends and I was sometimes lonely.
Do you think I'm weird or something? (not that it matters now)

lol... Welcome to my world! I do the same thing! I often talk to myself since I was younger, and by the way, I never had many friends too. Sometimes I do questions for myself and I anwser it like I was two people... We gotta be crazy, but I have to say that I enjoy it don't you?! This strange habit is helping me to learn English faster ;)

Soothing and reassuring yourself is actually a very good habit to get involved in. Many psychosocial therapist encourage this behavior.

The following site discusses the benefits of positive affirmations:

I think we all tend to talk to ourselves every once in a while whether its a calming effect or just something that occurs and makes us feel comfortable. I sometimes talk to myself when Im pissed or need to be reminded to do something. Also I dont think your weird, I think that someone who has never talked to themself is weird.

not only do i talk to myself when im alone, i often refer to myself in third person to my friends...so no, you're not weird. I mean, if you think about it, everyone is weird because everyone is different, but there's nothing like creepy or psychotic about you.

I don't do it, but I'm thinking of starting. I read somewhere that saying things outloud makes the words more real to you and you are better able to remember things that way.

All the time, but not out loud. I am 29, by the way. But that's normal, and it is called "internal dialog".

Yeah I do it too. Sometimes I get caught. It's embarrassing but I'll live.

Constantly.

I find it helps remind me of what I need to do during the day.
