I got to the pediatricians still. I'm 13, and have started my period. How can i feel confortable and be able to talk openly to my doctor about things. I get so nervous, but i dont know why...Help,please! I know it sounds stupid.

Pediatricians specialize in what your body is going through and adolescence. I know from experience that is embarrassing talking about those kind of subjects. Even when you are 30 and talking to the Dr. about it. But, I am a nurse and TRUST me when I tell you he has heard and seen everything and he will have answers for you and be a wonderful source of info for you.

Just say what you want. TRUST ME, your doctor has most likely seen and heard it all. Doctors, especially peds, have to have a certain amount of understanding when talking to patients. I know at the age of 13 it seems horrifying, but believe me it's not. When you get older, you'll tell and ask your doc all sorts of things that you would never think you would. If you have problems, questions, or concerns, just tell him/her! That's what their job is!

sister a doctor is a doctor they all learn the same stuff. If you aren't comfortable switch doctors. Ask your doc for a referral. Don't worry life happens.

get a female doctor. That way, you know she knows what you're going through, because she's gone through it too.
