I've been pondering this for a while, this question isn't just for white people. If anybody is offended by this question, it wasn't my intention to offend you at all. Please people, tell the truth.

It depends which Americans you're talking about. The majority would at least consider the minority president better than the alternatives (or he/she wouldn't get elected). Racists would hate the person. Some would love the new pres. just because he/she was a minority who finally broke the glass ceiling and made it, which means he/she would have had to have done at least something right.

For me, being a minority would not make me more tolerant of bad policy decisions, but if the person was good, I would be happy to see him or her win. I hope most other people would too.

Pimp Daddy For President! well why not, Corruption comes in all colours, just look around at all the other politicians. After a certain point it is not about anything but about power.

Edit JFK was a minority president when he was elected, he was a Catholic, and that was a problem back then, much like a Jewish or a Muslim president would be today. Notice how everybody assumes the minority must be black. How about a Latino, know of any others?

I would be happy if the person elected was a moral, highly qualified, compassionate person.

Personally I'd like to see Barak Obama make a bid for President with Oprah on the VP ticket.....I would vote for them in a heart beat..........but quite frankly would America realistically vote in a President of color or even a female president??? Well if history serves as an example -- the prognosis is really grim...Since 1776 (for over 2 centuries)..we've had only white males in that position.

But I'm one to look at the cup as half full so I will remain optimistic. I don't think America is really what it represents -- land of the free, home of the brave, a true democracy and meritocracy -- until we elect a female President or President of color.

I would have no problems with that. If the person made a good president then that's all that should matter. If the person would make a good president--well, they'd be better than what we've got now.

However, if a minority were elected as president I think many white people would be in shock when they suddenly remembered--they forgot to vote! D'oh!

I don't consider very many people minorities. If you and your parents were born in the USA you are not a minority to me, I don''t care if you are black, white or green it makes you an AMERICAN. I've heard people call themselves African-American that haven't even been to Africa, nor has any family member they know. A lady I know, her mother moved here from Greece, says she was born an American nothing more, nothing less. Whoever is president of this country should be the same way.

I'm a white woman & think it would be great to have a black president, even better a female black president. I think it might make african americans feel more equality & some ignorant red necks come to terms that we are all equal. I hate to get biblical but we were all formed from one blood one original mother & father, so we are all equal. I dont know how things ever got so messed up, but some world changes like this may get things back on track. And for those who dont believe in god, then we all came from the same monkey or plant, what ever you believe one organism created all man kind.

America has aways voted for and elected a minority president, it's just that the minority they are from is the rich. When America starts electing homeless people from the streets as president then I will believe it is truly a democratic country.

Since there's only 1 president and nearly 300 million Americans I believe we always have a minority elected president.

Obviously if she were elected, it would be because she won the election so a majority of Americans must like her. The ones who didn't like her would do what the Left Wing freaks are doing to Bush and what the RIght Wing freaks did to Clinton.

If Colin Powell had been elected, I would have been running through the streets celebrating! I president that knows when to go to war and when not to would have been amazing.

I think it would be a nice change. I don't see why in this day and age the only president has been an old white man.

If I felt comfortable having you control America over the next 4-8 years, then I would vote for you, regardless of Race OR Sex.
