If you won the powerball what would you do? If you travel, where would you go? Would you do good things for other people? We all dream about it I just wonder what other people would do. Make it interesting.

PAY OFF ALL OF MY CLOSE FAMILY AND FRIENDS' HOMES FOR THEM, INCLUDING MINE, RENT IT OUT, AND GET A 3 OR 4 BEDROOM HOUSE.
I'D TRAVEL ALL OVER THE US--FLORIDA, TEXAS, CALIFORNIA, ETC..
I'D BUY ALL NEW FURNITURE, APPLIANCES, EVERYTHING, AND GIVE ALL MY CURRENT STUFF TO SOMEONE WHO HAS NOTHING.
BUY ALL NEW CLOTHES, HIRE A PERSONAL TRAINER, GET SOME BOTOX.
EVERYTHING I NEVER I EVEN WANTED---FINALLY I'D CALL MY BOSS AND LET HIM KNOW I'M NOT COMING IN---EVER!!!

Use the money wisely not just waste it on lining some rich guys pockets at the church or any place like that. Most of the money goes to the guys who run the place. Better to start a business so people can have jobs not help a pastor buy a new car and home and build his savings account.

I would keep it. I have lived a hard life and so has my family. When we are all taken care of I might think about helping others. But you can't help others till you help yourself first.

I would travel and go about anywhere and everywhere. I know all my current friends would be gone and I would get new ones. This is not being mean, The problem with current freinds is they would not be able to keep up with you after becoming rich. You would be on the go all the time and money would be no problem in life. But for your current freinds money is a problem. You can't help everyone so you have to move on.

You will be spending millions of dollars on building a new home and new cars and eating out, Air flights and many many other things. So you will be helping others by giving them a job so they can make a livin for their families.

After I get bored of it all I would start some kind of a business and would only hire a few of my old freinds because they would try to push you around and you would have to come down on them and you would just loose them as a freind anyway.

Spend it wise but do spend it. If you are rich when you die you are still dead.

So if I'm dreaming, it has to be big.

1. Screem, yell, pass out, recover from shock
2. Resign from job.
3. Knock on the door of a local women's shelter with a nice sized check.
4. Give family members enough to live the high side of moderate life until they're 110.
5. Give myself the same and invest accordingly.
6. Take care of some friends.
7. Extended vacation to laid back tropical places
8. Set up a substantial trust fund and spend my days giving to charities until I felt like turning the program over to it's board and doing something else.

And you, what would you do?

Buy a house in La Jolla (reasonable size..don't need a mansion)..buy everyone in my family that needs one a decent car, not worry about going back to work for a long time after my child is born, buy my daughter some clothes that fit for once..(she always has second hand..) send my extended family money to help out, and not worry about groceries ever again!
Plus I would like to start a charity to help homeless people and families get back on their feet..
I would also travel to Egypt and the Meditteranean and see the sights..
I guess whatever is left over I would try and hold on to for as long as I can! :o)
What would you do?

Seriously. I would Spend about 20% of it on Luxury. As you said, Holiday or give to others. But 80% will definately be saved or Invested.

And for all of your thinking that its too much to Save. (i hop no ones thinking that?)

If won 3 million. That means i have $900,000 to spend at that time. That is more than enough for a house, all furniture, all electronics and a massive massive holiday around the world and donate to the salvation army.(depending on where you live)

2.1 Mil invested and/or saved will grow to be aloooott more than that in the future. but only if your smart.

First thing?? MOVE...b/c everybody and their dog would be after you wantin' money and saying that you owed them money blah blah blah. Then i would pay off all of my debts and my parents debts. Build us both nice homes and then just have fun. But honestly..i don't think that i could spend it all...that's just insane! You hear about people who put it in savings and their interest is like 20k a day. that's 120k a week! after you bought all the big stuff what else is there?? lol...omg it would be fun though! It would be nice to go shopping once and not look at price tags.
