We are a married couple in PA. we have been trying to have a child with no sucess we have seen doctors and they all told us we could not have a baby at all. My husband works in a factory full time and I have an online business. We own our own house so we aren't exactly poor but we have talked to adoption agencies and it seems like it ranges from 12,000 to 100,000 dollars to adopt. We were just wondering if there is another way to adopt besides and adoption agency. Exp. an organization that would help us find a person that can't keep their baby or unable to take care of their baby and they want to find a good loving and caring home for the child.

adoptakids.org is a site that may help. Now let me also say that I think adoption is the most loving and wonderful thing that people can do for a child.

as far as people like Ryan's mom who question why adopt when you are a low income family.. Think about what wonderful life you can give a child. The entire world doesn't have to be about money. I bet you could give one of those children the choice between money or a lifetime of love and they would chose the love.

Best of luck to you in your adoption process. I know it can be long and hard but truly worth it.

maybe try looking it up online or look into international adoption i know there has to be some way for you to adopt i watch that adoption show on TLC and i have yet to see a rich couple, have you looked into having a family member carry a baby for you or find a teen mom looking for a good home for her unborn baby well just some ideas good luck.

If you are low income why would you want to adopt a child? That would not be fair to the child to have to live in poverty.

Couldn't you do something cheaper, like buy a Rolls Royce? Kids are very expensive! You have to house, feed, and clothe them, supervise them, provide medical and dental care, and educate them. In this day and age, figure $250,000 minimum.
