If you can help me out with this, it would save me lots of energy...
This man, every time we hang up the phone, he'll end the conversation by saying 'I love you'. I know he does not mean it, he's just trying to get a reaction out of me (and it works.. I end up feeling bad). I either say 'ok thanks' or 'yes' which is making him angry, saying that I make him feel like a fool and stupid that I don't say it back. I have a good reason not to - he has a girlfriend. Anyway, what would you answer to that or what would you do about it? Keep in mind that we have children together - we sometimes need to talk and I don't want to go to war with him, it's serious Hell when we are in bad terms. Oh and telling him to stop won't work.. he enjoys creating reactions when around me.
Thanking you in advance.

Tell him 'you love me and I loved you too, but now its time to move on. Say I love you to our kids and help keep this a happy home You chose not to be with me so don't try to get me back or make me feel bad now. Be a man to your knew girl and a dad to our kids' I would just be up front with him and tell him why you don't want him saying it. To be honest, you shouldn't be worried about why he's getting mad over you not saying it back to him. Do you still have feelings or wanna reconcile with this dude?

I don't know if I totally believe that he does it just to make you angry or see your reaction. Does he have a little feeling left? Is it possible that he is only halfway kidding.

I say talk to him about it. One day just flat out ask him why he does that and see what he says. The answer may surprise you.

That's just my opinion though, good luck!

just say i love you to honey bunny, or somthing sickly sweet somthing that he isnt expecting so that HE gets knocked off his feet, u do have to talk to him and have some sort of relationship with him for the children, but the prior advice that i gave, say it nicley like u really do mean it, make him think of a new way to get a reaction out of you, good luck.

He seems to be a manipulative jerk.

When he says it again say "I love me too".
