Why do people commit adultery?

I just can't imagine not caring about ones spouse and children enough to not hurt them so badly.

I care because adultry causes so much pain and damage to our society. I can't imagine wanting to hurt anyone that much, let alone someone I loved or had loved. NOT to mention if children are involved.

People commit adultery:

1) to satisfy their own "selfish" emotional or sexual desires
2) beause they are lacking in spiritual/moral fiber
3) because they feel unusually tempted

...and a whole host of other reasons.

When people are thinking about committing adultery, the question they should ask themselves is "how would I feel if this was done to me?"

i agree with you..........but it still happens...if they love them then why do they do it..... i have had it done to me and it does hurt so much...you lose all the trust and really you have no faith in your spouse... and then it is over to me...you can not be as one when they have brought other women into your lives...i think it is sometimes other women look good to them and the women do not care if they are married or not... a lot is a lack of morals i think too... and maybe getting bored with the everyday routine of married life... but even if you try to spice up your married life they will still run around on you if the right kind of women comes along...but it is wrong in my eyes and i know gods eyes....also man is human and sin is in this world and the devil comes to kill, steal and destroy...and he is working in the people in this world today...

Because their partner is not good enough anymore. Too many reasons to list.

For men, it is just sex. He still loves the wife and family as much as ever. The wife just doesn't "put out". That's all. So technically, the wife has been "cheating" the husband out of his need for intimacy, therefore he gets his fulfillment elsewhere.

People commit adultery because of Adam and Eve eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge and sinned, and anyways, humanity has started a habit of not doing what they're told to. (The ten commandments state that you shall not commit adultery.) I imagine, how cruel would you have to be to not care about your family and to hurt them?!?!?! Go for gold without the L.

This is why humans are the primary species. We are so cruel to things around us. People are overtaken by their greed and desperation to live a comfortable life. People are better off living a hard life than living it up because you have money.

maybe they r tired of the married life with children!!! they want to get away from that for a while... what if the wife naggs alot and doesnt want to have sex?? *cheating isnt right but maybe thats y* there r many reasons... and same with women

If a man is not being taken care of, it's pretty easy to forget his marriage vows - even though they were made before God Himself, if someone else volunteers to fill the void.

Cause in America, Sexual Misdeeds are not paned or critical criticized, they are cheered for and praised, not mention we just don't care anymore.

Its mostly from spiritual poverty in understanding and feeling fullfilled in life, which I believe comes from the education and fullfilment of that persons fixed spiritual capacities.

Because wife is a jerk and there is no sex in the relationship. That is why I cheated and eventually got divorced. Great mother, terrible wife = extra marital affair.
