I was wondering if anyone knows if when your taking a hpt which way is a more accurate way. Peeing directly on the test or either peeing in a cup and dipping the test in it.

The best way to do it is the way that the directions suggest. Different tests work better differently. The earliest result is available from the First Response Early Response test, and that is a pee-on-the-stick test (with the window side down so nothing splashes on the window). With that test, you are supposed to replace the cap while the test is still in the strip-down position and then lay it flat on the counter.

If you pee directly on the test. That is the only way I ever took them and all three times it was accurate. I think they do have ones that have a cup with it, but I never bought those kind. Make sure it is first thing in the morning. That is also the time it is very accurate.

I just asked my mom (she's a family practice doctor)
She says that peeing in a cup and dipping the test in it is just as accurate as peeing on the test.
Peeing in a cup is just less messy.

It depends what kind of pregnancy test you have.If you have the plastic stick which you pee on or tiny with a cup.Both should be accurate the same way because they are made diferently to use doesn't mean that one or the other is more accurate.In my cases both tests always showed negative ir positive

Either works fine. In my experience (five kids), peeing on the test strip causes it to splash all over, it is so messy I would only dip it in the cup!!!!!

peeing on the test, peeing in a cup and dipping may dilute or ruin the results if any thing is in the cup or it wasn't properly sterilized.

Peeing directly onto the stick works best for me.

either, as long as the urine is fresh. It's best to do it on the first pee of the morning. Also make sure you get the sensor on the PT test strip really soaked.
