I believe Since the Executive branch has responsibility for the State Department the president sees that the officers carry out it's duties. The Duties are not clearly defined by the framers, but a citizen does not lose his/her citizenship and once in harms way, the government must protect those individuals.

The cost and billing of these people is another subject altogether. I simply want to know can one find this aas a responsibility in the constitution?

I had a conversation about this today. The best we could come up with was that we are a Government of the people, for the people, and by the people.

We might have not had a constitutional responsibility, but morally we did.The President takes enough crap already. Had we not got our people out they would of blamed him and who wants to hear it? I see it like this.....We are an intelligent country, We take our people out of harms way when its so obvious its not safe there anymore. Our President is held responsible for so many small things that people dont really pay attention to the big decisions as good ones. This was a good big decision.

i think of that human beings, decrease than comparable situations, might preserve their usa in simple terms like Israel is doing. i don't understand why the Lebanese military isn't sent south to interrupt the Hezbollah terrorists. in the event that they did not enable the Hezbollah terrorists shelter in Lebanon, the Lebanese might desire to stay in peace. by using the way, Lebanon isn't a muslim usa. The ruling government is composed of Christians, muslims, and Druze.

Yes, it was correct. All governments are responsible to protect their citizens, but the US government isn't always protecting its citizens.

When its on there own soil they don't give a fsck. When its on foreign soil from a 'terrorist' they evacuate immediately.

The US is the only real terrorist.
