Message in a Bottle?

Question

If I was going to write a message in a bottle, what would be the best kind of bottle to put it in? I already know the chances of someone finding it are very low, but it would still be cool if someone did!!!

u noe wat dear? its best you get a plain transparent bottle. Do some glass painting on it, personalised it to your liking, personality, get your creative juices flow....and put your message in it ........

Glass. Plastic will become brittle in the sun and crack.

Put your note inside a baggie and then put it in the bottle. If you use a clear bottle, the sun could fade the ink, so get a tinted bottle.

I don't think the type of bottle matters as long as it has some kind of top to keep the water out. But something with a wider opening so someone could get it out easier.

There is case of a bottle being at sea for 150 years. It somehow got back to the home port where the writer of it originally sailed from.

Chunosake Matsuyama was wrecked at sea in 1784. Shortly before he and his companion died of starvation on a pacific coral reef, he carved a brief accoun of their tradgey on a piece of wood, sealed it in a bottle and sent it on its way.

It landed at the seaside village where he was born in 1935.
