I have siezures and was denied because they don't happen often enough. When I have a siezure I don't go into convulsions but I will stop whatever I'm doing and take off walking. The government people said I could work as a cashier,if I had a siezure while my register was open and took off walking all that money is there for the taken.somebody could grab it and be gone before I relize I even had a siezure. Most stores would hold me responsable. That would not be my fault but that is what I'm being told to do.Is there anything I could do?

Just because you were denied ssi does not mean the siezures don't exist. Have a doctor verify your condition and keep the record on hand. If the bosses fire you because of the disbaility they are in trouble. But you must have told them about the condition and probably given them written notice. That way your covered and so are they.

Well, I got denied SSI and disability after having been run over by a train at work and losing my right leg, having my back "skinned alive" after being drug down the track by the train for about 200 feet, and breaking a rib and my only remaining ankle, and having my only remaining knee skinned too, and partially losing my voice from suspected "hurry-up" E.R. stuff as I was being treated. They said I was too educated to be disabled, and I had had a "sit down job" (the SS worker's exact words) before that job and I could get another "sit down job" now. So, I'm one legged and not disabled. I doubt you're gonna have any luck with your claim. Good Luck though. God Bless you.

Be sure to appeal any denials and look for legal rep. If you are eligible for SSI then free legal help may be available. Look for free legal services in your area. If they aren't able to help they might refer you to someone who can get paid. If you have to make it to a Law Judge without legal rep. be sure to have a witness who can speak on your behalf. Be very clear on how long your seizures last, what effect they have on you, how long that lasts. Do you take meds? How do they make you feel? Do you have any other issues? Be sure to tell SSA about them. Tell them about every little thing that bothers you. Good luck and keep trying.
