need more detail about your relationship now. I do not know how old you are or anything but I will tell you a story about my best 3 friends and if your is anything like our or close to it then it is possible but only you and your friend know how the two of you are at heart.
4th grade- I had a best friend and we were inseperable, we would fight but next day it is like the fight never existed. It just went over our heads. We stuck together thru thick & thin until she moved away. We kept in touch by writing for several years. She came looking for me once and found me. It was great to see her. We lost touch again but later I met her two daughters and the oldest was to a t to her mother looks. It was like "I was seeing twins." Sadly, about 10 years later after searching for her, I found out she had pass away in 2003. I was hurt and still am. I am now in touch with her family so things will get better.
5th grade - after this one moved away, a new friend came along. she rescued me from people been mean to me. We stuck together till 10th grade but by 11th grade we pretty much went our own way. Now, we keep in touch but not enough.
Now- I have the best friend that anybody could ever ask for. We're pretty much like twins or it is 2 people in one body. We are there for one another, help each other, we listen to each other, take the same kind of meds, went to the same school, our past lives was similar to one another. It is so awesome. We've been best friend for more than 25 yrs now and still going strong.
Now, if your friend is anything like my best friend now, then yes you two could be best friend for a very, very long time. You just need to stay true to one another. Be honest, talk to each other good and bad things. Help each other thru thick and thin. It is not easy because you're going to be tested in many ways. Learn from your mistakes and be forgiving as much as you can if you two really love each other. Listen to your heart and realize just how lucky you two are in having each other as best friend. Best friend are not easy to find.

Only time will tell because I'm not sure too many out there can predict the future. Just depends on how you both feel and the situation/circumstances.
