I agree, too many subplots, especially the island tribes and the witch doctor. Neither really helped the plot. The three main characters did their job but the rest didn't.

I agree, it was way too long and drawn out. The plots were muddled and never went anywhere. The only real plot was getting the chest and they spent 2 1/2 hours doing that.
The Jack/Elizabeth stuff seemed like it came from a poorly written fanfic that a 14 year old fangirl submitted or something. The CGI was cool but there was WAY too much of it and the Davy Jones crew looked more like 'Star Wars' characters than sea creatures.
I hope part three is better than part two...

I didn't hate it all though it was hard to follow for my wife. It would be better if they hadn;t had an actress do the exposition with a thick Jamaican accent. That made my wife confused as to why Barbarosa was back, and also confused her about who exactly Davey Jones was in the first place. My knowlede of nautical mythology helped me out there.

hahaha omgosh yeah they did!!!! there were some parts that were def. not needed...but i mean, it gave you more time to look at johnny depp and orlando bloom, which is always nice!!! ;) they took a five hour movie and cut it in half so they left you hanging. i don't think it was better than the first one...but it was still a good movie!!!!
but remember...all those different stories should lead up to one main one in the third one, and if it doesn't, then the writer did not do his job!!!

I thought it was AMAZING but it was confuzing and I needed subtitles sometimes because I couldn't understand what they were saying. My parents saw it twice and they said it was alot better the 2nd time because you can concentrate more on the movie and not think about it.

I was rather disappointed, but we all know that we will go see the third one - so I guess they were pretty smart.
