Not salted. Feed only un-salted. Squirrels LOVE baked sweet potatoes and they're very healthy for them. Just zap it in the microwave just as you would a regular potato, allow it to cool before feeding it.

Sure they can eat them I have raised Squirrels and fed them salted peanuts and they were just fine! I guess it all depends on who you ask... some people over react when it comes to stuff like feeding wild animals!

I suppose so. They might get a tad thirsty but as long as they have access to water and other food sources (and they will since they're wild), they should be fine. They have probably been fed or found much worse food to feast on from humans. Just don't feed them peanut m&m's or french fries.

If they will eat the salt, yes. Wild animals are very wise about their foods. Most likely they will taste one time and reject after getting all worked up that they are going to get an easy meal.
In other words, most likely you will play a trick on them and force them to go find water to wash the salt out of their mouths.
Best to buy a bag of unsalted for them. What, 65 cents? Big deal, huh?

A few won't hurt but they aren't really good for them. If you want to feed squirrels, buy a good sunflower/corn/peanut mix from the store. They'll love you for it!

there are two ways we have found to feed them here where i live the first is to use a feeder at first then you can get them to trust you and then they will come around to trust you if you give them enough reason to trust you so yes you can if you gain thier trust so remember trust is the key
