Haymarket and North Station on the green and orange lines, Government Center on the green and blue lines, and Aquarium on the blue line are the closest. Hanover Street is the main street in the North End (make sure to ask for directions to the North End, people will laugh at you if you call it Little Italy). Also while you're there, make sure to go to either Mike's Pastry or Modern Pastry (or both!) And all of the restaurants there are good.

There are no subway stops *in* the north end, but as was said, haymarket and north station will both get you very close (just across a main street).

Green line or orange line.
