put your head to one side (shaking it gently) or lie down on your side (putting your head on a towel) and the water should just come out after a few minutes -- you'll feel it drip out and your ear will be clear. If it's still in there after you get home just lie down again on your side and it should come out eventually. Whatever you do, don't put Qtips or dig in there -- you'll hurt your ear.

Funny, when I googled "getting water out of ear swimming", I got to this website showing a very high tech device (and expensive) called Sahara DryEar which is used to get water of your ear after swimming http://www.leisurepro.com/prod/AQUSDE.html Can you imagine using this? :-) It's advertised as '"Built with a Custom computer chip that safely regulates: Temperature level, Gentle Air Flow Rate, Drying Cycle Duration." Maybe they should put a built-in mp3 player into it too :-)

I know a kid who hates getting water in his ears, and he uses earplugs, the soft moldable playdohy kind that you stuff in your ears.... he says they work pretty well. You can buy these in your local pharmacy.

This is what I do: take some water into your palm of your hand. Pour the water into the ear that has water inside (if it is left ear then you lean your head to the right and use your left hand to pour water; if it is right ear then you lean your head to the left and use your right hand to pour water).

Then as soon as the water get into your ear - QUICKLY -take it out (if you lean your head to the left then lean your head now to the right - and vice versa). All water (the one that was there and just in) will come out together.

1. lay down with your water filled ear facing down
2. shake your head in the direction of your water filled ear
3. put a dry washcloth in the microwave for a few seconds(just get it warm, not too hot) and hold it up to your ear whil it is facing down(put it on your ear and lay on it)

This sounds stupid, but it works...my mom always told me to tilt my head to the side that has the water in it, and jump up and down.

All you do is tilt your head and wait for the water to drain.
