The timing comes at a time of alot of things.

- Pressure in Iraq is increasing (even though the US government declared the war in Iraq a victory)

- UN Security Council results on disarming Iran

- Anything remotely going on with the US government is behind the curtains with all the Israel and Lebanon news, so they can do pretty much anything they like without any attention right now

- And a few other things..

LMAO ... oh yeah, let's just forget that the mid east is a powder keg and wars have been going on and off for hundreds of years. No, of course this spat with Lebanon was conceived and executed just for congressional re-elections. Talk about foolishness and vanity.

I don't think this one is. Give it time though, someone will attack us some how and that will be convenient enough to use for reelection.

You know though, if we keep getting attacked, isn't it time for a leadership change since the current one can't keep us safe?

I hadn't thought about it, but yes. And, unfortunately, because it is a matter of national security, so to speak, people are going to vote for the Republicans again.
