How do you know you are not dreaming now?

I know that I am not dreaming now because I may be a dream someone else is dreaming at this moment. Here is a Haiku I wrote on the subject (Haiku is a Japanese form of verse in 3 lines - each Haiku is a complete poem in itself) :-

My Dream or Yours

Is the dream I live Yours?
Or do you live in mine?
I wonder? You know!

Technically and philosophically speaking, I don't. But physically speaking I do because the sensations of a dream and the course of events in a dream are slightly different from those in real life, and the fact that I am experiencing the sensations of conciousness/real life and awakeness I determine that I am in fact awake, therefore, not dreaming.


Hmm...start thinking about that too much and it gets scary.

I once awoke from a dream and marveled at how real it was, and then I awoke again. It was awesome.

We don't know if we are dreaming or not, but we have to be practical and assume we are not so we can get about our business of hunting and gathering and whatnot. It won't hurt anything if we are dreaming, and would be downright mandatory if we're not.

I don't, but I am pretty sure I am wide awake and in the moment. If I were dreaming, I think I would be in a better mood. :|
