How do I say thank you for an award ?

I recieved an award for excellence in my field of nursing at a dinner. I need to say thank you to everyone who sent me congratulatory cards, or even those people who told me how happy they were I recieved the recognition. I was given a large chunk of money by a physician and I am just at a loss for what to say or do. How do I convey how thankful I am? Do I just let it go since I said thank you at the awards ceremony. How do you say how greatful you are? I was just interviewed for a news article.

I think it sounds like you already said thank you at the ceremony. That should be enough for most people, those who sent congratulatory cards and spoke to you. The physician who gave you the money, however, should have a nice, heartful note or card sent to him/her. The next time you see the people who sent cards you should thank them for their thoughtfulness, but really you don't need to send a card for them sending YOU a card!

Send thank you cards to those who gave you gifts and cards, and be sure to tell those that wished you well how much it meant to you. It's always hard to put into words how you feel at a time such as this, but a simple thank you gesture will let them know you appreciate their recognition. Or, you could throw a dinner party or reception to thank those you wish to thank.

You could write some nice thank you cards. Thank you cards are not really old fashioned and are still used today.
