First, stop calling him friend. Second, pray for him. Ask God to bless his life and help him in all that he does. The Bible says to do good to them that hate you and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you. Do good to him for in doing so you shall heap coals of fire upon his head. God Bless you.

Romans 12:19-21 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

19Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

20Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

21Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Matthew 5:43-45 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

43Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

45That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Yes, I've had this happen to me...at work a long time ago...the rat accused me of stealing which never happened and destroyed my reputation. Of course he was an "avid" christian and always talking about the "lord." It involved a lot of money that he had collected. Later, someone told me this "good christian' had done this very thing to another person that ended up resigning.
Unfortuanely some miserable morans, often they are the holier than though types, enjoy destroying people this way. You must speak up for yourself and point out and draw attentionto your good reputation.

I would let them know that I didn't do it--but if they persist on believing I did, there is nothing I could do about it. I have had this happen to me before and all I could say is, "I know you are upset and you think I did this. All I can tell you is that I swear I didn't. You can choose to believe me or not." My friend chose not to. Nothing more I could do. We are no longer friends. I will not be accused of something I didn't do. Simple as that.

I would confront this person who was my friend and tell him/her that you know you didn't do anything of the sort.
If you believe I did, then I have made a Hugh mistake about our friendship. I am sorry but if that is what you believe then you must find other friends than me...I feel this friendship has come to a close.

If you think there's some misunderstanding, you should go talk to your friend to set things straight.

If you think your friend deliberately accused you just to hurt you, forget about the friendship and don't hang out with them anymore.

I'm guessing this happened to you or to a friend of yours..?

Utterly ignore the person. Hopefully, the quietness of you will drive him completely insane and he will approach you.

Drop the friendship. Not worth it. If they did this to you once....they will continue to do this again and again. You could just confront them and ask them why they did it...but don't count on an honest answer.

Get the person alone and tell them in no uncertain terms that it hurts you terribly that you were unjustly accused of something you didn't do...................
