Why is he coming in your yard? Once you solve that, he will be easy to get rid of. Skunks love cat and dog food, and bugs, and lots of garbage items. Figure out what he wants, and ask him to leave. Seriously, you may have luck with something like bear piss or something like that from an outdoors shop. They are a pain. I'm betting they are looking for food, so take that away. Put smelly diapers in the backyard instead.

Poor skunk. Think how he must feel. No one loves him. No one cares. Can't even poke around for food during the time most humans are supposed to be sleeping. Just tryng to earn a living like everyone else, and some home owner is always scheming to whack him for good. Probably has a wife skunk and family to feed too.

You probably have grubs in your lawn that are attracting the pole cat. Sprinkle some cayenne pepper around in the areas the skunk goes to. If he gets some of that in his snoot he won't hang around very long.

The best way is trapping and removal of the animal. Use a cage or call a professional who can set one up for ya. By all means, do not shoot it, shooting an animal that's not being shot for food or your own self defense is cruel and inhumane.

Call your local wildlife rescue, concerned about a skunk that just might get poisoned if it keeps terrorizing your neighborhood.

Urinating all over your yard and dog should do the trick.

Get a hungry pet lion. Perhaps that will take care of your problem, I don't know. If not, maybe you can just shoot it.

use a 22 caliber short to shoot it with so it won't make much noise and it won't have much travel if you miss!
