If you're planning on having a baby wear the dress, drycleaning chemicals are way too strong. Soak the dress in a mixture of vinegar and water, and then set it out in the sun to dry. The sun will naturally whiten the dress. I can't emember the exact amount of vinegar, but I got this advice from a professional drycleaner when i brought in a yellowed dress.

LEMON juice....with a cool water solution of liquid detergent...in a shallow pan or container float the fabric into the water.under the flat container position a dowel rod or suitable replacement in the "middle" gently rock the garment as you would a baby. This labor of love will gently remove the yellowing and then drop in 4 eyedrops of bleach....and rock some more. next place garment between 2 fluffy white towels and place the water pan ( with water ) on top this presses the garment and OSMOSIS will remove most of the water....lay in a windowsill or other bright sunny spot.....for final drying.

I would check with a dry cleaner first but if it can be washed I'd try Oxyclean. My mother just got my confirmation dress white again & it's 15+ years old! She soaked it for a few hours, spun it dry & dryed it flat. Dress looks brand new. She did the same for parts of her wedding dress too!!
