Good question! I think life in the United States in 2050 will be more like a South American Country than a North American Country. I believe we will have exhausted our self by that time and will be quite content to smell the roses and let someone or some other people be the shaker and fist fighters. Unless we change our ways soon, we are not going last as a Super anything.
Why you might ask? Well basically when a Nation gets into name calling and wild wild west type behavior, it is on it's way out. The people have lost their nerve. They have also lost their commitment to solving peoples problems. And I also think we are running out of other people to blame for our problems. There is just to many contradiction in our thinking, feelings and behavior to sustain our current pace and industry.
But, I also think we will be better off for getting rid of all this name calling, better than thou and warring. I think being more like the Italians would be real good for us. We need more culture, peaceful culture like the Netherlands, Italy or even Portugal.

Speculation: multi-generations will live in one domicile; schools will be very impersonal and possibly uniforms will be required as they will be more communistically ran and sports will be an extra-curricular activity and not the source of the school budget's drain; churches will either be state churches or meet quietly in homes; wages will not have increased by more than 5%; expenditures will have increased by more than 25%; materialism will have given way to survival for the majority of Americans; what we now know as the rich and famous will continue to move out of America and Hollywood as it tends to now and we will see another country on the rise into the power we have currently known and accepted as our standards; we will see more of an agricultural need and we will see more metropolitan areas endure overcrowding - if we study the depression of the 1930's we will see a very small scare version of what I believe we will see in 2050.

i don't see it being much different maybe more efficient products and better technology like in Minority Report not the fact that we can pre see crimes but the gadgets and gidgets they have in the movie look back at 1962 which is 44 years ago and look at what has changed and then think 44 years from now in 2050 those same thigns will probably get better as they have for us

I want be around, but, my grand children will and maybe great-grandchildren.
I hope Jesus has come back by then and we will be living in the most beautiful world that our minds cannot phantom. That's what the Bible says, anyway. I believe our heaven will be right here on earth minus all the catastropies, sinkness and wars. I will be able to see the beautiful mountains and forests and seasides whenever I want to!!! What a glorious day...I can't wait!!

By then many more interracial children will have been born making racism a thing of the past. However and unfortunately, we may still be in the stone age regarding sexism and the US will probably continue to treat women stupidly. Perhaps, though, by then at least we may have at least one woman president; though by then even Asian countries will have had many women as head of states.

I personally feel the world will not be visible or even here for that matter. The predictions are the world be end before then, and Christ will come to earth and take those that believe in him. I really feel this way. I will probably be dead by then, I would be 90 yrs old.. ewwwwwwwwwwwhhhh... thats old.. hehe

We'll all be hooked up to machines creating our own versions of life. Then a vast electrical storm will shut all the power down worldwide and we'll be stuck in blackness for the rest of existance.
