I use Advanced WindowsCare to keep my PC patched up, with Ccleaner to help.
Knowing more about the problem would help somewhat.

The spells are called:
(Best to do it in this order, gremlins are hard to get rid of)
Internet Explorer> Tools > Options> Delete Cookies
Interent Explorer > Tools > Options > Delete Files
Delete files you no longer want
Check to make sure there are no files in the C:\ root directly that should not be there (i.e., *.doc, *.xls, etc.)
Defrag the Disk
Install and run Virus Software
Install and run Adware Software
Put up your own Firewall
And as a last resort, burn the computer at the stake!

I have one but have found that computers don't work all that well after being submerged in sea water and most people do not have the required shrunken skull. What are the Gremlins up to?
