if they call a fly a fly cos it flys y dont they call a human a kill cos it kills or a fish a swim cos it swims.

The term fly is a culturally based term not at biologist term. A human that kills! Well you need more verbs to describe what has happened so the person listening can understand what is going on. With a fly. No verb is need to describe the action of that noun because the action is associated with the word. What sociologist would call word association.
