Because most people don't like to b argued with. A debate is like an arguement. If u have a lot of debates, that makes u a mass-debater. R u a mass-debater? Or just someone who likes to argue? Remember, to see a point of view from another person, u have to put yourself in their shoes and see it from their side. You might find out they're right.

"maybe they want to clear the underlying item and aren´t willing just to witness sophistical tricks - punctuating on debating capabilities implies you aren´t primarily interested in truth"

Yes, exactly! Sometimes, it's not about winning, or being right. Sometimes people want to have an adult conversation without it turning into to some big competition. If you turn everything into a conversation, people aren't going to like it.
If you had to choice between being right, and being happy, which would you choose.

Probably because now days people just want things their way. They don't want to argue with anyone about it. Its either their way or no way at all. Hence many folks tell you to just drop it and move on alot. But I like a good debate if you have a decent enough point/answer worth fighting for.

It is probably because people don't like a braggart. and don't just bring it up in conversations. But if the subject is brought up and you are in the con. tell them you know how to but don't over do it. if a debate is brought up, then show not just tell.and don't brag out loud. people will think your just a (want to be ) good debater. keep it simple, and don't over do it . Remember less is sometimes more.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because you use phrases like "why do people dont like," and "bout." I'm not being pointlessly mean here, I'm just saying that people don't like it when you imply that you're smarter than they are while failing at basic sentence structure and spelling.

Wel it depends, if you are debating with people to piss them off, well that's not nice, but if you are debating on subjects to learn more and to become more openminded, well to me that's a good thing.
