Yes! And here's one secret to it (though not the only one). Tap an empty glass. The "ping" you hear is the pitch that the human voice will have to reach to shatter the glass. I have only heard of one male who has been able to do it, but I'm sure there are more.

Yes. A very famous singer from the 1940s through the 1960s did an advertisement on TV many years ago for Memorex Cassette tapes. While Ella Fitzgerald was singing during the commercial, she hit a certain high note, and shattered a drinking glass. The commerical then replayed Ella on the Memorex cassette recording, and the recording shattered the glass! The point of the ad was to say that Memorex cassette recordings sounded like "the real thing." So many people questioned the validity of that commercial that Ella appeared later on a late nite talk show and did the same thing before a live audience. She sang the same song, and when she hit that note, the drinking glass shattered. It is something you would have to see to believe, but I did see that program.

yep. Ella Fitzgerald used to do it. And theres a guy named Jim Gillette from a band called NITRO (90's metal band) that did it, it was reported that he did it to the venues wine glasses at gigs the band played. High pitch notes RULE! ...LOL!
