A good deed is defined by the circumstances which we find it in. There should be some happier people once a good deed is done, for example.

Helping another person with out a expectation of reward. What I had instilled as a Boy Scouts was ''Do a Good Deed Daily'', the person toughed me that did a good deed as he gave me a principle that followed me all my life, now I must do the same for someone.

Samuel Johnson, in the mid 17 hundreds used these words as proof of a good deed when he said, "No good deed goes unpunished". Odd as it may seem, This quote has had the ring of truth for many well intentioned people. However, deeds of love for neighbor, kindness, helping widows and orphans and the like are perfect ways to exercise your faith in God and in following the commands of Jesus Christ. The apostle James tells us that Faith without works is dead.

A good deed is something you do out of the goodness of your heart with the intent of making someone else happy. Usually the other person is not someone you know very well, but it could be. If it helps them

Well the simple answer is something that one person does to intentionally help someone else, but a "Good deed" is usually used when the act that someone does for the other person is exceptionally helpful or potentially harmful or discomforting to the person doing the act. It is not especially "self-less" as one would be led to believe if one much stock into the term, but overall its an exceptional thing done by one person especially to help another person.
Did I overanalyze that or what? lol.

I believe that a good deed is when someone does something beneficial for someone, for no other reason than to help, not for a reward.

broadly, a voluntary act that results in some sort of benefit to another person or persons. if there's a personal gain, it makes it more of a fair tradeoff than a good deed but i don't think it matters that much if you also benefit from helping out.

i consider good deeds as good if it benefits everyone. not just to you but also to those people around you. it is also good in the sense that it is according to the will of God and also if it is according to what the law expects you to do.
