Man 55 yrs. old. Never been married. Says he loves me. Dating 2-1/2 yrs. We are not having sex. Will he ever propose marriage? Why or why not?

Talk to him about it. Tell him you don't relish dating forever and you need to move on to a higher leve of commitment ie marriage.

its highly possible he WON'T.....why would he have never been married before, he's a bachelor at heart and the fact that you've been dating for over 2 years without sex.......its possible he's got something to hide.e.g mr willy smalls......or that he's already married and has a family that you know nothing about.
I've heard and read about cases where the man lives double lifes: has a mistress that thinks he's single and then a wife and kids somewhere. Get out of this relationship as quick as you can, somethings just not right with the picture.

It could totally happen. My husband's aunt was in a similar situation, and after 4 years, he finally proposed. He had major commitment issues, and sought counseling from his pastor prior to proposing. Do you know how your man feels about marriage? Does he know how you feel about marriage?

If you are waiting to get married before having sex then that's something to be commended for. I would frank with the guy and ask him his intentions. Judging by his reaction will tell you if he's marriage material or not.

....I don't think so...he either is gay or he is afraid of commitment. So if what you are looking is marriage...I would say..."don't waste your time..." but if you really love him...a paper is nothing, you've been patient enough may be when he can't move and needs assitance and realized that is just you who would be behind him he propose. No, he's set in his ways, and it might not be a good idea to be married at this point. He won't propose, so just enjoy what you do have with him.

Ask him what his intentions are. If you are content to spend the rest of your life dating him then I wouldn't worry about it. If you want to be married and he doesn't you shouldn't waste anymore time.
