If you don't like Fox, don't watch it.

Fox gets bashed more because it's got more viewers, it's the more successful of the two, because liberals are in general more likely to want people to see things from their perspective (they tend to be more zealous, more "earnest" and feely about their views) and thus probably talk more about Fox just because they whine more, again because they, more than conservatives, feel that their views (which they think are "helping people, setting rules, accepting others" etc.) are the only moral decision, etc. Conservatives love liberal bashing as much as liberals love whining about evil conservatives. Don't kid yourself; we all know it's true. But again, conservatives don't have much reason to bash CNN. It's not the powerhouse Fox is, it's older so everyone already *knows* it's liberal and has adjusted to the fact, and there would never be a scenario in which CNN had a breaking story Fox did not have, so conservatives never actually have to watch CNN. On the other hand, Fox is more aggressive, more partisan-seeming because of its format (if you watch both, you'll see their converage is different styles), and sometimes it gets the scoop, so liberals actually do have to watch it if they want the news. Another reason: We have a conservative president, so liberals already feel like the country has gone to the dogs; Fox's success only rubs salt in the wound, so you get more whining from liberals. Another affect of a conservative president in relation to Fox is that it's that much more obvious how bias Fox is, because the president has a flamboyant, controversial agenda, and Fox agrees with it at every possible opportunity. So Fox gets complained about also because it's a mouthpiece for Bush and his people. (Notice, as in the case of Cheney's hunting ordeal, the White House always gives Fox first dibs on interviews and information- this of course, is only further irritant to the liberals. The White House shouldn't have the favorites relationship it does with Fox, so this is just one more thing to get annoyed with if you're a liberal.) With a liberal president, conservatives might whine more about CNN, as it might be getting all the scoops and serving as the president's mouthpiece.

In truth, both Fox and CNN should be bashed for not openly stating that they are strongly conservative and strongly liberal. Fox actually is worse on this front because of its ridiculously misleading slogan. (I don't know it right offhand, as I most often get my news from newspapers, but it's something about honest and unbiased, right?)

Edited to add: Fox may have been behind during Katrina, but CNN was retracting stories left and right, which is worse. I was in bed with bronchitis during the week of Katrina, and as a media major, I watched all the channels. MSNBC was definitely best, but the coverage on all the channels was so vague and redundant, it was pathetic. Also, FYI because I said I was a media major, I'm libertarian, so I dislike conservatives and liberals equally.

I watch both CNN and Fox. People like Bill O'Riliey give Fox a bad name. He is so rude to his guests that I stopped watching him. I like Fox and Friends this show has a multitude of information. During Katrina MSNBC had the best coverage the next best was CNN, Fox seemed about a slow and far behind as Bush was during the crisis. I was surprised at Fox during Katrina I turned to them many times and they just were not with it.CNN is not something that is precious, news channels are not precious, Because you feel picked on I suggest you take a more open minded attitude toward life in general

GREAT question! They bash it because they cannot shut it up. Liberals, more than any group of people I have seen on this Earth, are the most intolerant people alive. If you don't agree with them, your opinions and observations are not worth hearing. They have dominated the so-called "mainstream media' for so long as well that they have -- as they do in so many other spheres -- a feeling of entitlement. So when a new competitor comes on board that does not parrot their lies, hate and agenda, they go bonkers and do what liberals do best: mount cowardly, unsupportable attacks..smear. I always laugh when libs say conservatives smear..that might be so in some cases, but it was perfected to an art form by Carville and the Clintonites who set America up for 9/11 by not dealing with bin Laden when they had the chance..worst presidency in history, but libs will tell you the present on is. LIBERALS should get on their knees every night and thank God that we conservatives are there to protect their miserable right to openly hate the country, its military, the businesses that make their fortunes possible, and their precious ACLU. Keep watching Fox..yes, I believe commentators like Bill O'Reilly do "spin" issues once in awhile, but at least they take on problems that affect and diminish real Americans, like activist liberal judges who give child molesters a routine slap on the wrist, illegal immigration, etc, instead of whining about Guantanamo, how Gore and Kerry were cheated (they weren't), and their poor suffering friends in Hezbollah.

When you get your hearing checked you can post another question. So far this week, Michael Savage one of your mouthpieces complained about the ABC, NBC,CBS,CNN, KGB, EX-CIA network newstations. I can't even print what Sean Hannity says about CNN, and then every single conservative I really know in person? "Well, you only watch CNN, How WOULDyou get your news. You need to watch FOX" What is hard to understand about right wing propaganda that FOX extolls? I don't watch CNN, I listen to NPR and I watch news from Canada, Australia and other neutral countries to make up my mind that Bush is a twit, the neo-cons are scary at best, dunderheaded idiots at the least, and underhanded, legally challanged, corrupt, moneygrubbers representing the worst of all American excesses.

Before Fox came along I used to scream at the TV for the liberals bias, and twist on the truth. I'm glad that Fox doesn't think were as stupid as CNN apparently does. How do they keep an audience????

Both sides bash each other. Don't give me that about how you guys never bash CNN. Everyone's guilty of mudslinging. Truth is always a causality in the struggle between the Right and the Left.

Liberals bash Fox News because they cannot acknowledge any point of view other than their own as having validity.

ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, Time, & Newsweek are all propaganda arms of the liberal wing of the Democrat party. U.S. News and Fox News are not and they just can't countenance it. They minds are too small.

That's the thing, no one but ultra-righties think CNN is liberal. Even Fox will tell you it is Conservative. They admit it. Their owner has said so many times. CNN is mainstream,m but for GOP Nazi's, that's not conservative enough, so it must be liberal. Stop defending a news station you know so little about.

Conservatives complain about the unfair treatment though. Which is true.

They don't like competition is the main reason. They want to run Fox out of business so they control what we are told.
