If the universe is infinite and forever expanding and IF, hypothetically speaking, IF we had the technology to almost magically travel to the end of the universe, what would one expect to...find? Or what would be there?

If we had the technology to exactly, precise, travel in a extremely precise and accurate straight line, without encountering objects getting in the way, would we get to the end of the universe, or is the universe curved and we've be going in circle?

I don't think it can be infinite, because if you believe in the big bang, everything that is here now was here from the beginning, the universe may be expanding, but at a certain point, it may just all come back in again. I think the universe is finite. There is an end to everything in existence as we know it. Even stars have a "birth" and a "death".. The universe is just so enormous that it is hard for me to comprehend something like that. It might be that there are many universes overlapping in some space time continuum--maybe that is more compatible with an "infinite universe" idea. Or it could be that the universe itself is contained in a sphere of some kind.....I don't know, seems natural enough, I doubt it would be a rectangle or a flower or star shape, though we will never know...
Maybe it is a flat, disk like shape (like in space Odyssey 2001

I wish you people would just take the time to read some of the other pages in this forum. THAT question has been asked and answered about 100 times or more!!!!. Please!!!!

There is no end to the universe. Even though it is finite in size it is unbounded. Therefore, travel for long enough and far enough and you should come back to where you started......given what we understand of it's present geometry. That is the long and the short of it.

The universe I suggest has limits but such limits is beyond the reach of human capacity no matter how they will strive with advanced technologies in exploration. The vastness of universe is a wonder beyond human discovery, only the Creator knows.

As u know that the origin of the universe is from the bigbang theory which occured several billion years ago.It is assumed that universe expands with the speed of light and is still expanding. So to know the boundary of universe you need to travell greater than speed of light which is immpossible. So to know the boundary of universe is nearly immpossible.

Infinite. The universe kept expanding, and depends how much mass it can held stars and universe inside.

I'm not sure if it's infinite or not, but since folded space (and therefore wormholes) are scientifically theoretically real, it's likely that even traveling in a straight line wouldn't take you straight.

Infinite. It is always expanding. You could never travel to the end.

Ok. Everyone agrees is infinite and is expanding. So, it is expanding into WHAT?
