Guys, a small correction.
The sari is a six/ nine yard dress worn wrapped around the waist at one end and draped around the shoulder or the head at the other. This is predominantly worn in India and can be worn by Indians of all communities and religions.
However this is not the traditional Muslim dress. As per their religious priests, Muslim Women in Saudi Arabia ( where they stick to the custom in toto) are supposed wear a modest dress called the " Hijaab" . The Saudi Arabian version of modest dress is composed of abaya or loose robe, ħijāb or headcovering and niqāb or face veil
Trust that helps !
Cheers

To respond to one of the (ignorant) answers:
Believe it or not, many Muslim women CHOOSE to cover their bodies. Freedom should NOT be measured strictly by North American/Western/WASP/American standards.
Yes, many Caucasian women show their cleavage/asses/faces/ankles/wrists/stomachs........But that does not equate with equality or freedom???? How many Muslim women suffer from Anorexia or Bulimia; or spend money on cosmetic surgery?
Don't judge a religion or culture on what you see on CNN. Fundamentalists are fundamentalists, whether they are Muslim or Christian. There are gradients, and if a woman covers herself and CHOOSES to, then it's not oppression.

The full thing is a burka, but just the head wrap is a balaclava. I should know, I wore one for a week as an experiment for my college World Cultures class.
