I went out on a friends hen night recently (that’s a bachelorette party for anyone outside of the UK) and after many hours of drinking, dancing and stumbling around town failing to find a taxi, the evening finally ended with a group of us squatting down in an alleyway for a much needed pee! I mentioned this in passing to some colleagues at work when we were discussing our respective weekends, expecting them to find it a humorous incident, but instead they reacted with disgust at my ‘unladylike conduct.’ The colleagues in question were male. Since their attitude is pretty clear, I would like to know what other women think of what I did and, if they have ever done the same thing after a night on the tiles, how people responded to their behaviour?

No....it is a humorous anecdote and one you and your friends will have to chuckle about as years go by. Your choice of audience may have been the problem, that and the location. Work is a professional setting and the subject of women peeing when men are amongst women is something that can be difficult for them to handle with levity. At a bar or pub or another social gathering there reactions may have been much different.

That's so awesome. One night my best friend and I were walking around town trying to find a way home because someone screwed us over. She had to go pee really bad. So she went up beside someone's house and squatted. Took a good pee. It was funny. She had nothing to wipe with though. I'm sure it soaked through her pants a little, but thats okay.

I'm sure they wouldn't have flinched if you'd been a bloke. Guys seem to assume that women are incapable of peeing in public without making a mess. Double standards all over the place!
Personally, I think it's very uncouth for ANYONE over the age of four or five to pee in public, and it totally grosses me out, but that's just me.
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Guys do it all the time, and yes, in groups. Don't feel bad. There are many things that men and women do that are viewed differently. A man scores with a lot of chicks and he is a stud. A woman has a lot of encounter with men and she is a slut. Why? Who knows?

the fact that you needed to pee, you at least found an alley,i dont think you schould be so much worried about that, you schould be more worried about the fact you allowed yourself to get so drunk that you lost controll,to the extent that you did not do your pee before you left the pub,you are lucky you only had to pee,i can understand them saying it was unlady like but then your no lady are you.

I don't know what you call them in the UK but don't concern yourself with what pompous asses think. You've got to do what you've got to do. When I was Trampin', I used to go outside the bar and pee on the corvettes.

trust me they were only making those face trying to keep you from figuring out they were actually trying to imagine you in the alleyway with your friends doing your thing. as long as you didn't pee on your shoes you should be alright.

No, but I would feel bad about telling ANYONE about it. It is something that should have been dropped instead of bragged upon... =)

You gotta go, then you gotta go. Nature built us "to go". We weren't born with an attached bathroom.
