I used to have the same problem.
When I was about 11 I was so sick of having them and hated dealing with the pain.
I eventually went on birth control. (seasonale specifically)
I suggest talking to your doctor.
It seems weird to take birth control even when you're not having sex, but it's so much better not having my period now.
Now I can limit my periods to only 4 times a year instead of 12.
It's really been a great thing for me.
Male teachers often are more prepared to deal with "female emergencies" then you might think. If you do let them know, you don't have to be so specific. I used to just tell my gym teacher that I just wasn't feel well. Sometimes I went to the nurse too. You seem a little bit shy about having your period, but I promise you it's nothing to feel overly uncomfortable about.
All women go through it. Even when I feel awkward or embarrassed about doing something like asking my teacher for a pad if it catches me off-guard, I try to remember that they've been through it too.
I get migraines a lot too. I used to get them especially on the early morning before my period. But on the pill I don't get them as often at all.
When I do get cramps, I try to take an anti-inflammatory at the first sign of pain. Sometimes a little physical activity feels good with mine too, but definetly don't stress it and go all out. While I'm waiting for it to go away, I feel best laying on my side.
So again, I really suggest talking to your doctor. And probably your mom too, because I'm sure she doesn't want you to suffer and I think she would understand.
Hang in there

There are a few things you can do. First if these are chronic and you feel sometimes like it might make you pass out, you need to see a Doctor. They may be able to prescribe you something for it. Now if these are regular period cramps that hurt very bad, but you can still function....here are some steps you can take.
1. Go on the pill. Sometimes that has a major effect on cramps. Some Dr's prescribe that as a solution to cramps.
2. Take Advil 2 days before your period is due to start. It will help to keep the cramps away. Take the Advil during the cramps as well.
3. Eat bananas. It helps with cramping. Its worth a try.
4. Take a long hot bath before the cramps start. Or to relieve them.
5. Wear the menstrual variety Thermacare heat patch. Those things have gotten me through many a long day.
6. Stretch your abdomen.
7. Take a walk, it helps to loosen up all your muscles and can sometimes be a complete reliever of cramps.
Hope this helps.

You can take over the counter mytol or any pain killer. No one has to know your taking anything. A heating pad also help. Drinking a nice calm tea helps to relax the body. Try not to stress yourself out that wil make you feel worse. Maybe limit the time you take off to once a month so that way one day a month you can take off stay in bed and be totally about you and that way the next day it will be a little better.

Have you been to a gynecologist? I suggest you talk to your mother and ask her to make you an appointment for an examination. A gynecologist will be able to figure out why you are having such painful periods and put you on medication that will help. Then you won't have to miss so much school and gym class won't be so bad. Good luck.

when your mom is home ask her to write a note to the gym teachers explaining you get migranes during your cycle. Then when the next one hits you can say to them.. I have a bad headache and I need to sit out. That did the trick for me when I was in HS.

maybe you and your mom should talk to your doctor about birth control, it helps with the cramps and migraines. I was on it at 12 because I had the same problem and would miss a week of school every month because of it.

I'm so sorry you're so uncomfortable. Try taking 400mg of ibuprofen in the morning before school. It's an anti-inflammatory medication that will last about 6 hours. If this doesn't alleviate your discomfort, talk to your gynecologist.

Evening Primrose Oil Caplets, Motrin, and you can always just tell your dad you're 'not feeling well'. If he asks for specifics tell him you're not comfortable saying- he'll get the picture. Also tell your mom about it when she is home- she can mention it to your dad so he will know that you are staying in bed for a good reason, not just 'playing sick'.

This is part of growing up and becoming responsible for yourself and your body: you're going to HAVE to tell your dad, as embarrased as you may be. He's an adult and he'll understand even if HE gets embarrased a little. Your health is more important and there's no reason to be ashamed of having a period!!

If it's that bad you should see a doctor. Most school have policies excusing students from various activities (like gym) if they have a doctor's note.
