I don't care too much about the quality of the washing job and the range of options each provides. I just need something that is as cheap as possible and is also simultaneously reliable and long-lasting. FWIW, I have been looking at brands like Roper at Lowe's which are in the 250-400 dollar range for both the washer and dryer.

That's what I would suggest. Roper is a good brand. I recently purchased a Roper Washing machine and dryer about a year ago, they both are plain "no frills" models. They both work great at cleaning and drying and were in the lowest price range at Lowe's. I have been satisfied with them.

I lilke Whirlpool. We've had a lot of trouble with the previous Maytag we had. The dealer replaced it b/c it had so many problems. But we got a Whirlpool washer and dryer last Sept. as well and they've been great. I don't know the model # as it is at our hurricane evac. building. Michelle

I just LOVE my Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer. Energy efficient, uses less water and holds up to 16 pairs of jeans in one load. Cleans everything wonderfully.

each and all of the bathing gadget in malaysia have guarantee suitable?..maximum of their guarantee only for 2 years for motor and administration board (vehicle)..do you ever attempt to study out Toshiba's guarantee..5 years for motor and a pair of years for administration board..only my opinion l. a. in accordance with my washer..
